REGULATIONS ON THE DEPARTMENT OF RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES OF THE NATIONAL TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF UKRAINE “KYIV POLYTECHNICAL INSTITUTE”
1.GENERAL PROVISIONS
The Department of Renewable Energy Sources is a basic structural unit of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Automation, which conducts educational, methodological and / or scientific activities in the specialty “Non-traditional and renewable energy sources”.
The Department of Renewable Energy Sources consists of six research and teaching staff, for whom the department is the main place of work, and three of them have a degree or academic (honorary) title. The decision to establish the department was made by the Academic Council of the University in 2002. Based on this decision, the rector issued an order to establish the department.
The Department of Renewable Energy Sources is part of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Automation (Educational and Scientific Institute). The staff of the department consists of scientific, scientific and pedagogical, engineering and technical staff, teaching and support staff, doctoral students, graduate students.
The staff list of the Department of Renewable Energy Sources is approved by the Rector of the University on the proposal of the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Automation.
In its activities, the Department of Renewable Energy Sources is guided by the Constitution of Ukraine, laws and other regulations of Ukraine, the Charter of HTUU “KPI”, the Rules of Procedure of HTUU “KPI” and this Regulation.
Issues that are not reflected in the Regulations are resolved by the Rector in accordance with specific circumstances in accordance with applicable law.
Regulations on the Department of Renewable Energy Sources are developed on the basis of the standard regulations on the department of the university and approved by the rector of the university.
2.MAIN TASKS OF THE DEPARTMENT
- Ensuring the educational process in accordance with the standards of education is carried out at a high level of educational activity, which ensures that higher education students obtain the appropriate degree in the specialization “Non-traditional and renewable energy sources”.
- Ensuring practical training of persons studying at the department, through their internship at enterprises, institutions and organizations in accordance with the agreements concluded by the university or in its structural units that provide practical training.
- Conducting educational, scientific, innovative, international and other activities.
- Ensuring the creative activity of participants in the educational process.
- Preservation and increase of moral, cultural, scientific values and achievements of society.
- Establishing international relations in the conduct of international activities of the university in the field of education, science, sports, arts and culture.
- Ensuring the training of graduate and doctoral students and specialists of innovative type, the formation of modern scientific human resources, able to ensure the development and implementation of innovative scientific developments.
- Development of textbooks, manuals and research papers, methodological and other publications on the profile of the department and ensuring the academic presence of the Department of Renewable Energy in the global Internet.
- Organization of internships and advanced training of scientific-pedagogical and scientific workers of the department.
The activity of the department of renewable energy sources is carried out on the basis of the annual work plan of the department, which covers the areas and tasks specified in this Regulation. The work plan of the Department of Renewable Energy Sources is discussed and approved at its meeting.
The main tasks of the Department of Renewable Energy Sources are discussed at the meeting of the department. Decisions made at the meeting of the department are binding on its employees. Meetings of the Department of Renewable Energy Sources are held at least once a month. Scientific-pedagogical and scientific workers of the department take part in the meeting of the department. A meeting of the department is considered valid if it is attended by at least two thirds of scientific, pedagogical and research staff, for whom the department is the main place of work. Decisions of the department are made by a simple majority of votes present at the meeting of the department. During the meeting of the department a protocol is kept, which is signed by the head of the department (his deputy) and the secretary of the department. Other persons may be invited to the meeting of the department.
3.FUNCTIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT
- In the field of educational process:
- ensuring training, implementation of control measures in the disciplines of the Department of Renewable Energy Sources in accordance with the standards of higher education and regulations on the organization of the educational process, curriculum and programs of disciplines;
- submission of proposals to the dean’s office of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Automation on the formation of the schedule of classes;
- providing practical training for students specializing in the department;
- organization of concluding contracts to provide practical training for students;
- preparation of students for participation in competitions, contests;
- certification of students specializing in the Department of Renewable Energy Sources;
- ensuring the effective work of the relevant examination commissions;
- organization and conducting of entrance examinations and additional entrance examinations for the second level of higher education for obtaining a master’s degree;
- appointment and organization of work of curators of academic groups;
- In the sphere of methodical activity:
- development of the sequence of studying disciplines (structural-logical schemes), curricula and working curricula for specialization of the department;
- development of programs of educational disciplines of the department, programs of practical training;
- elaboration of topics of individual tasks and attestation works for obtaining the degree of higher education accordingly;
- creation of textbooks, manuals, other educational and methodical publications on disciplines of the department;
- development of tools for assessing the competencies of students acquired in the learning process and the criteria for such assessment, rating systems for assessing student knowledge;
- reviewing and examination of educational and methodical publications in the disciplines of the Department of Renewable Energy Sources;
- organization and holding of methodical, scientific-methodical seminars of the department;
- providing guidance, reviewing, consulting certification work to obtain a degree of higher education;
- development of educational (educational-professional and educational-scientific) programs on the specialization of the Department of Renewable Energy Sources;
- participation in the development of information packages of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Automation, which includes the department.
- In the field of research and innovation:
- Ensuring highly effective scientific and innovative activities of the department through research and teaching staff, doctoral students, graduate students and students of the department of research in the approved areas of development of science and technology, areas of innovation:
- organization of training of scientific personnel of the highest qualification in fundamental, natural and engineering directions with involvement in the scientific management of undergraduate and postgraduate students of leading scientists of the university and academic institutes;
- strengthening the research component in the curricula for masters and involving them in the implementation of research;
- participation in the development of innovation structures on the basis of the university (science park, technology park, business incubators) in the priority research areas of the department;
- implementation of measures to create objects of intellectual property rights and protection of intellectual property rights, as well as technology transfer, in particular through the innovative environment of the Science Park “Kyiv Polytechnic”, and the implementation of license agreements;
- implementation of international research projects and programs, grants, agreements commissioned by foreign organizations and companies;
- implementation of organizational and methodological measures to increase the citation of scientific papers of the department, expanding the presence of their scientific publications in journals and conference proceedings included in international scientometric databases (Scopus, Web of Science, etc.).
- In the field of organizational activities:
- providing proposals on staffing and staffing;
- organization of quality control of educational classes, practical training of students;
- establishing and maintaining relations with structural units of the university and other organizations;
- assistance in professional development of scientific and pedagogical staff of the department and employment of employees;
- organization of activities for career guidance and involvement of persons in training on the specialization of the department;
- preparation of the necessary documents for licensing and accreditation within the specialization of the department;
- organization of work on the creation and maintenance of the official website of the department (3-5 interesting materials per semester, aimed at the target audience) and information and telecommunication system “Electronic Campus” in accordance with the Regulations on the standard website of HTUU “KPI”;
- providing information about the results of the department;
- ensuring the participation of employees of the department in the work of expert councils, commissions, groups of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, specialized scientific councils;
- document management and ensuring the transfer of documents for archival storage;
- determining the rating of scientific and pedagogical staff of the department;
- creation and maintenance of information and communication resources in the kpi domain zone. at the university.
- In the field of international activities: preparation (together with the LCA) of draft agreements on cooperation with departments of foreign universities and the organization of their implementation;
- initiating, conducting, forming a program of international conferences at the level of the department, faculty, educational and scientific institute;
- preparation of project proposals for participation in international
- competitions, programs, funds, grants;
- participation in international research and publication in international journals;
- delegation of employees to participate in international conferences, seminars, competitions, exhibitions;
- providing training for foreign students;
- development of academic mobility through participation in international programs and projects;
- making proposals for the creation of joint structures with foreign partners (laboratories, centers, research groups, editorial teams, consortia, etc.);
- ensuring the participation of employees of the department in international professional organizations (mechanics, electricians, materials scientists, welders and other similar professional associations);
- coverage of the results of educational and scientific activities of the department in English.
4.MANAGEMENT BODIES OF THE DEPARTMENT
The department is managed by the head of the department, who may not hold office for more than two terms.
The head of the Department of Renewable Energy Sources must have a scientific degree and / or academic (honorary) title in accordance with the profile of the department.
The head of the department is elected by secret ballot by the Academic Council of the University for a term of five years, taking into account the proposals of the staff of the faculty (educational and scientific institute) and the department. The rector of the university concludes a contract with the head of the department.
The head of the department ensures the organization of the educational process, the implementation of curricula and programs of academic disciplines, controls the quality of teaching disciplines, educational and methodological and scientific activities of teachers.
The head of the department ensures the implementation of the functions of the department and the execution of orders, instructions and instructions of the rector, dean, creating in cyberspace (global Internet) a holistic positive image of the department as a university unit capable of competing in the international market of educational and scientific services.
The head of the department is subordinated to the dean of the faculty and acts on the basis of job description and contract conditions.
In accordance with the Regulations on the scientific head of the department (institute, faculty, department) at the department may be elected scientific supervisor and scientific consultant.
Funding of the department is carried out within the funds of the relevant faculty (educational and scientific institute). Organizational support of financial, economic and scientific activities of the department can be carried out through the relevant departments at the faculty level (educational and scientific institute).
5.TERMINATION OF THE DEPARTMENT
Termination of the department of renewable energy sources can be done by its reorganization or liquidation.
The activity of the Department of Renewable Energy Sources is terminated by the order of the Rector in the manner and under the conditions provided by the Charter of HTUU “KPI” and current legislation of Ukraine, by decision of the Academic Council of the University.
Regulations on the Department of Renewable Energy Sources were developed on the basis of the standard regulations on the departments of the University, which was approved by the Rector of the University by Order №4-137 of 17.06.15.
